"And I reminded you that I have no authority on ship and crew assignments due to my own rank as Captain," Krystal reminded Nat. "I can only make suggestions at best. But I'm sure you'd find a way to get the personnel thing worked out behind the scenes."
Admiral Nat stood there for a moment. "Welp, I guess we might as well explain the situation to these two. Long story short, mirror Nat is a liar and intends to strike when you're all busy having a meeting, so you guys keep watch and I'll provide the reinforcements necessary to drive them back when they show up."
Admiral Nat shrugged. "Welp, I guess I'll send you back then. Oh, and Nat!"
Captain Nat looked over.
Admiral Nat continued. "You're gonna love the ship you end up commanding. Trust me."
He snapped his fingers and in a flash, Krystal, Nat, and Sarah found themselves at Krystal's table from before. No one seemed to notice their disappearance, nor Nat and Sarah suddenly appearing out of nowhere.
"N...no..." Krystal managed to say. She opened her eyes and looked at Captain Nat. There was a slight blue glow in her eyes. "I... I feel weird and..."
She cringed before again bracing herself on the table and shaking.
Captain Nat practically laughed. "Literally everything. Telepaths, probably. Invisible nanites that hide in people and can control them. Hyper-Q who may very well be watching and manipulating us right now. Probably other things. No clue what specifically would cause this, though."
"Well... there is evidence that this may have started a while ago," the nurse replied. "Time frame could be... about the time the Infamous was captured. I understand that she may have had a minor neck injury shortly after that?"
Nat shrugged. "I wasn't there, sadly, but apparently so. My guess is that that is when the Infamous tagged her with one of those nanites, which was later removed by the mirror version of me and his people."
"There's nothing we can do to reverse the effects," the doctor finally said. "It seems that this may have been meant as a gradual thing, but something recent jumpstarted the process into a bit of an overdrive, almost like a reaction to a threat. From what we've been able to determine, she will still be Trill, but we've already noticed a potential increase in her inherant telepathic ability. Far stronger than what we have on record for her. And we've noticed a fluctuating energy field as if she's generating it herself. Other than that... she's perfectly healthy. None of her biological systems seem to be impacted... if she ever had children they would be perfectly healthy. I can't seem to figure out what exactly is happening to her."
"No, but I have a feeling the news coming from a friend might help keep her calm," the doctor replied. "She's already feeling defensive around the medical staff."

Captain Nat replied. "I guess not. Keep an eye out and don't be surprised when you guys save the day from the other guys. Got it."
Sarah rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure."

In a moment, the three were in sickbay as a doctor and others came over.

The captain didn't seem too happy about that. "So when are you gonna tell her?"
